Oral Implantology

Duration of the course: One year

Faculty: Faculty form MCODS Manipal and visiting faculty from both India and abroad constitute the the teaching team.

Number and duration of modules: Four modules of six days each

Course content: The training involves didactic component, hands on experience on dummy jaw, clinical live surgeries (demonstrations) on patients and cases by students and training for prosthetic work also. Besides all this, the student is given home tasks to perform, like extensive review work on a given topic, preparation of a power point presentation of about 15 minutes on the same topic and placement of a few implants in one’s own clinic.

Aesthetic Dentistry

Outline of Curriculum
The college provides a comprehensive clinically oriented curriculum that will expose the participants to a variety of materials and techniques in an exciting and fast-paced educational environment. The unique programme featuring a live patient demonstration is formulated to enhance aesthetics especially for anterior dentition. This course will include tooth preparation designs, impression techniques, provisionals and cementation procedures. Through this live demonstration training, students get the opportunity to develop and redefine their skills that are imperative to a successful aesthetic dentist.

This extensive certificate course is designed to provide a wide-ranging experience in all aspects of aesthetic/ cosmetic and contemporary restorative dentistry. It will be a modular programme spread over a period of 12 months. The course will provide experiences that will include reviews of aesthetic and related literature, didactic presentations, laboratory and clinical experience. The unique features of this course include:

  • Over-the-shoulder mentoring by remarkable clinicians
  • Opportunities to master advanced aesthetic techniques using a variety of contemporary materials during patient treatment
  • Practical treatment planning of complex restorative cases
  • Interaction with colleagues and observation of their patients during the programme

Course Contents
Since the certificate course is extensive and is designed on the lines of continuing education, the aesthetic dental materials and techniques we adopt will change in line with the varying taste of the society. This will also create the necessity to implement multiple training systems. There are scientific lectures and extensive hands-on sessions along with theoretical and clinical experience.
