    Hi Deb,
I have a NCC B certificate and Republic day parade certificate, can i know wether these certificates are given any preference in Army Dental Corps admission ?

    • Deb May 16, 2012 at 9:26 pm - Reply

They do carry some value as part of Extracurricular Activities .

But the main thing for selection is Your Cutoff Percentage in Final year + Any repeat attempts

Start gathering all the documents for the exam … and be ready with that …

the openings will be published in all major news papers when its available . Some times there is written and SSB interview & some times there is only interview call based on BDS marks aggregate . Written exams are based on BDS syllabus and also has reasoning qs . MDS candidates are some times directly called for interview . One more thing , a high aggregate in the Final BDS with no supplemental subject is better for your chances . As the army takes in to account the repeats and the high aggregate in the final year …

All the best and any more info that comes out will be posted at dentalorg.com … :)

    • Deb March 23, 2012 at 10:28 pm - Reply

The openings when present will be published by the Army in Major News Papers . You need to write a written exam and then face SSB interview on qualifying the written Exam .

Marks scored in final BDS , aggregate also counts and also the repeat attempts . Cut off is usually 60% plus .

i scored 69.7% in final year, first attempt and it was the highest in my university.
    what shud i do?

    • Deb June 14, 2012 at 7:29 pm - Reply

Cant tell about why there was no call … your aggregates are good … the only reason I can think of is that some other candidates had higher %ge that increased the cut off .

But don’t be sad . Apply again this time when the openings are out .

Yes you are eligible to apply . 75 % aggregate is very good . You will definitely be called for interview. As for physical fitness I don’t think short shitedness is a problem . But some time rules change . But to a large extent it’s not a problem. You get ready for your interview and once clear it then worry for the physicals.

Army openings are usually published in the middle of the year. They are posted in all the major Indian news papers. Once you see the opening then apply with all the necessary documents. And then wait for the call letter. If your form is short listed after comparing the forms of all the candidates, then you will be called for the interview.
